ACCURACY ANALYSIS ON THE BASIS OF SPIRENT 6300M SIGNAL GENERATOR AND NOVATEL FLEXPAK6

ABSTRACT

Global Navigation Satellite Systems became more and more popular. They are used in a lot of aspects of modern life. Users need to get better accuracy linked with small, easy to use receivers. The aim of this study was to analyse the accuracy of the NovAtel FlexPak6 receiver using Spirent 6300M simulator. NovAtel FlexPak6 is a brand new receiver fully integrated both with GLONASS and GPS systems. It allows to get better precision and accuracy of the determined position than with using only one of these systems. The measurements were performed at the Laboratory of GNSS signals in the Polish Air Force Academy in Deblin. This study contains a descriptions of the NovAtel FlexPak6 receiver and Spirent 6300M simulator. There are shown technical parameters, capabilities for both devices and description of the receiver’s dedicated software programme. The Spirent 6300M simulator gave opportunity to define reference position with high accuracy of coordinates. This equipment allows user to manually change a lot of options, for example: influence of tropospheric and ionosperic errors, air humidity, noises et cetera. Another advantage was possibility of making own navigational scenario or using satellite data from the past. Part of calculations were made by using Transpol application.
