DETERMINATION OF METHANE DRAINAGE BOREHOLE SYSTEM OPTIMAL PARAMETERS TO DECREASE GAS CONTENT IN MINE WORKINGS

ABSTRACT

Possibility of taking into account changes in permeability of rock mass being
undermined when planning methane drainage borehole systems designed to decrease
methane emission in the gob from the rock mass being undermined has been
considered. It is shown that industrial anisotropy of the undermined rock mass
permeability appreciably effects methane drainage efficiency. A number of criteria is
specified which should be taken into account when planning methane drainage systems.
Experimental evaluation of the efficiency of boreholes drilled according to different
recommendations has been made.
