ABSTRACT

The application of precise geodetic measurements in industrial surveying is very
important in defining the axes or planes in which individual parts of equipment are
installed in the process of their assembling. Apart from that, it is necessary to control
the whole or some parts of equipment after assembling and putting it into operation for
the purpose of obtaining high quality operational procedure. This paper describes the
procedure of applying precise geodetic measurements and measuring data processing on
special devices that test the endurance of the operation of internal-combustion engine.
The lengths of levers from the middle of the device axis needed to be determined. At the
ends of the levers there are the various weights placed, which enables adequate loading
of the engine. The required measuring uncertainty in determining the lengths of these
levers was U = 1 mm (with the confidence interval k = 1.96). The application of
selected measuring method can make it possible to achieve the required measuring
uncertainty with previous analysis and detailed elaboration of the measuring method
and with the application of unavoidably tested and calibrated precise geodetic
instruments and accessories.
