ABSTRACT
This paper summarizes the results of laboratory experiments of the gasification process
of waste polymers, with particular focus on monitoring the quantity and character of the
resulting solid, liquid and gaseous products. Input materials such as tires, PC
components, CDs, and tire mixtures with HDPE and PET were selected. The gaseous
products were analyzed by gas chromatography, which were monitored following
components: methane, ethylene, propane, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and
hydrogen. From the analysed gaseous components relative net calorific value of gas was
calculated, which reached up to 5 MJ.m-3. The solid product produced during
gasification was submited to determination of sorption capacity through the iodine
adsorption number. The resulting liquid product was subjected to analysis, where it was
determined water content, calorific value, net calorific value, elemental analysis and
representation of individual organic components in the condensate.
