ABSTRACT
The research of restoration applicability of dump rocks started about 25 years ago. However, the
complex geological, pedological and hydrogeological evaluation and the evaluation of
zoocoenoses of dump areas has not been elaborated yet. It is the main topic of grant project
started in 2009. Main results of this research are shown in this paper. Main attention is focused
to the comparison between restorated areas and areas retained for natural succession in North
Western Bohemia.
