The report presents information for the National Balance of Subsurface Resources, its
status at the beginning of year 2000, and the changes during 1999. Summarized are the results
for the mining and processing of subsurface resources and its environmental impact. The
objectives and the priorities of the Ministry of Environment and Water, considering the
legislative basis and the liquidation of the consequences of research and mining activities, are
also shortly described.
