8th International Scientific Conference - SGEM2008, www.sgem.org, SGEM2008 Conference Proceedings/ ISBN: 954-918181-2, June 16-20, 2008, Vol. 2, 99-112 pp
ABSTRACT
The spoil heaps, present in the perimeter of the hydropower plants, industrial chemical
complexes, groups of mining exploitation and minerals processing etc. are an important
prejudice for the environment, and because of this, they need special attention
(monitoring, EIA, implementation of some strategies of ecological restoration). We
focused the attention on two spoil heaps categories from W. Romania (in Retezat
National Park) and S.W. Romania (Moldova Noua complex), different as their
provenience, morphological and ecological characteristics and ecological restoration
particularities.
Keywords: ground beetles, spoil heaps, ecological succession, ecological restoration.
