ABSTRACT

Two major series of crosscutting dikes (Dk1a and Dk1b) are common in Sungun
porphyry deposit. Those are varying compositionally from quartz monzo-diorite to
granodiorite. About thirty percent of the sungun stock is filled by Dk1a and Dk1b dikes.
Presence of dikes will cause lots of errors in copper content estimation, so determination
of dikes is very important. Ten percent of dikes volume could be identified through
drawing strings and correlation between boreholes. For estimating and determining the
other part of unknown dikes, we have applied Indicator Kriging on boreholes data. The
Indicator kriging, based on 81000 data from the sungun drillcores, have been applied to
geostatistical modeling. For modeling via Indicator kriging (IK) method, data were
indicated to 1 and 0. For modeling each type of dykes, all data related to that dyke series
were indicated to 0 and other data were indicated to 1. To carry out this geostatistical
investigation, an anisotropic spherical model was fitted over each empirical variogram.
After applying a cutoff (0.5) the blocks were assigned to Dk1a and Dk1b. 9821 blocks
of 85000 blocks were modeled in Dk1a and 7845 blocks were modeled in Dk1b.
