ABSTRACT
This paper represent a short review of non-metallic resourceses (NMR) on few selected lignite deposits in Kolubara Coal Mines (KCM) and estimate thems potential in material
and economic aspects. The further discussions are in preliminary mean and looks like an preliminary case study estimation. The paper is in agrement with the principles of sustainable development and the principles of complete and complex utilisation of
mineral resourceses potential of the coal deposits. A timing of open pit works on ’’E’’ and ’’G’’ deposits are rappidlly incoming, according to that the all types of designig are
accelerate. The senior mineral resource in KCM is low ranked brown coal – lignite, which exploitation gave a dominant features of mining activities. In earlier years, digged lignite provide all the economic income to the mine. Additional, folowing the
lignite, in deposits there are a numerous non-metallic types of resourceses such as gravels, quartz sands and sands, low ranked clays and diatomea earth. Lignite is well
geologicaly explored, so we can talk of about 2,5B t of it’s quantities. More than 1,5B t are exploatible; the rest of 1B t is stil under resourceses mean. The huge non-metalic
quantities are, according to it’s poor geologicaly explorations, still resourceses. On open pit ’’D’’ and ’’Veliki Crljeni’’ they are under economic exploitation and valorisation.
