| A: | The abbreviation SGEM unites the main fields, on which contemporary geo-sciences are based on: Surveying – science involving measurements, Geology - science dealing with geology and the world around us, Ecology and Environment – sciences that teache us how to develop our live in harmony with the Nature and the way of conserving it, and Management - science that reveals us the secret of using our erudition in the most wisest way. |

| A: | The conference is held under the patronage and the ideaological organization of the Ministry of Environment and Waters Bulgaria,
in partucular by Directorate “Subsurface and Underground Resources”

| A: | The members of the SGEM conference, regardless of the year in which they participated for the first time as delegate/lecturer, form the main part of the Internet Scientific Society - iSGEM. This is a non-profit organization, it has its own forum where the members can share articles, reserch results. Periodically an scientific magazine - SGEM eMagazine is distributed free of charge to universities, scientific research centers, ministries, organizations and businesses. |

| Q: | Can I become a member of the iSGEM society? |

| A: | Certainly! All you have to do is to take part in at least one SGEM conference. |

| Q: | What is the procedure at an SGEM conference? |
|||
| A: | The conference continues for 5 conference days. Upon registering all delegates receive a conference set containing everything they will require, a conference collection of papers, T-shirts, hats or other SGEM-souvenirs. At the first evening, a lavish WELCOME cocktail is organized for the SGEM guests. Scientific sessions take place each day, which may be organized in one or two parts depending on the amount of reports. During the conference is organized a field trip with a lecture to interesting sites or territories in the region. The conference ends with a dinner at a traditional Bulgarian restaurant and a 3-hour entertainment program. |

| Q: | In what format, where and how I must send my abstract
or full report? |
|||
| A: | Abstracts and full reports are only accepted in electronic format in accordance with the requirements published on the Web site. You may send them after Registration. If you don’t have the opportunity to do this, you can bring them to the head office of the conference (the address is available at the site). |

| Q: | How do I register to participate in SGEM? |
|||
| A: | Registrations can be submitted electronically at the Web site of the conference, in the “Electronic Registration” menu or you can download a blank registration form, fill it and send it by email. This registration includes everything you will require during the time you spend at the conference, including accommodation, transport, etc. If for any reason you are unable to register electronically or download the blank registration from, please contact our staff members at the conference phone number and they will offer you the most feasible alternative method of registration. |

| Q: | Do I have any substantial reasons for not participating in SGEM? |

| A: | There are no such reasons, because this event has become a criterion of professionalism in several interconnected aspects of applied science – mining, geology, geo-informatics and ecology. This event brings together experts, scientists and engineers not only from Bulgaria, but also from developed countries in Europe, America and Asia. |

Who is allowed to participate in SGEM? |

| A: | Delegates, lecturers or exhibitors at the SGEM conference are selected with no consideration to gender, religion, status, nationality, and other such factors. |

| Q: | When was the SGEM International Science Conference established? |
|||
| A: | The first conference was held in 2001. It is held each summer during the month of June at the best and sunniest Bulgarian sea resorts. |

| Q: | Where and how are participation fees paid? |
|||
| A: | Participation fees and hotel expenses are paid solely by means of bank transefer. For participants from foreign countries payment through Wester Union is possible. If you wish to pay in any other way it is necessary that you first contact our partners by telefone. All deadlines and bank information are published on the website. |

| Q: | What kind of technique may I use for my presentation? |
|||
| A: | Multimedia projection plus screen, computer and printer are available to every SGEM participant. |

| Q: | What are the basic ways I can participate? |
|||
| A: | You may participate as a delegate , lecturer, or exhibitor. You may present your company's profile. You may be accompanied by your spouse. There are discounts for students. |

| Q: | What is covered by the participation fee? |
|||
| A: | Participation fee covers the wellcome cocktail, participation at the scientific sessions, access to the exhibitions, a set of commercial SGEM materials, closing dinner party, membership in the Internet Society iSGEM and a Participation Certificate. |

| Q: | I need a Visa Issue? |
|||
| A: | There are many different requirements to obtain a Visa to enter a country. Most embassies may request an 'Invitation Letter' from the Conference Organizing Committee to verify that the exact person is going to participate that specific conference. It may also be necessary to verify that the requester has paid the registration fee in full.
Therefore there are some requirements for providing an 'Invitation Letter' that to be used for visa application.
'Invitation letters' should only be issued to:
All question concerning your visa application status should be pointed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the respective Bulgarian Embassy in your country. Conference Organizing Committee is not taking the responsibility if some attendant's visa request is granted or not. There is not tax refund. |

| Q: | I can go to Varna airport/train station, but how do I get to the meeting center? |
|||
| A: | While registering, you have to indicate that you want a transport from Varna city to Albena Co. Once you make your way to
Varna, you need to inform us of the means of transport and your time of arrival. Our partners will meet you and will help you with your luggage and take you to the Conference Center and to the hotel where you are to stay. If you wish, we can secure transport for you from Sofia to Varna, but you need to request that by email. |

| A: | During your free time and after the days of event we have planned tourist routes to the most beautiful parts of Bulgaria, geological phenomena, and related businesses. About all this you may read on this website. |
