INSTRUCTIONS FOR SPEAKERS (ORAL Scientific/PhD Presentations)

In the Conference Collection of Papers will be published the correspondent to the made presentations scientific papers. Every scientific paper should be prepared and submitted in consideration of the conference requirements. /See Paper requirements/.

Please come at the SGEM Conference Hall at least 15 minutes before the start of the session;

Check the day session programme - some changes could occur;

Presentation time for ORAL presentation is 10 minutes + 5 min for questions from the audience;

The main goal of your oral presentation is to get the audience interested in your work. All presentations have to be made in English. Speak slowly, use short sentences;

The presentations have to be done in PowerPoint format (or other self-executive multimedia). VOICE presentations are NOT permissible;

To make your oral presentation more effective it may be structured as follow:

outline of main points (one slide at the beginning in the form of a table of contents);

introduction (demonstrate the importance of the topic);

details of main points in the research (limit the number of points you make, be clear when you are switching to a new point);

conclusion (a summary of your main points).

Use max. 1-2 slides per minute of your presentation, and 4-5 points per slide;

Use clear titles, use graphs and figures rather than just words; use enough large fonts so that the presentation will be readable from a distance;

Speakers are kindly asked to use the available in the Conference hall Laptop. Only if they have special reasons they may use their own laptops (in that case they  have to inform the technical assistant before the session);

Only PowerPoint presentations on a CD-ROM/DVD or a USB Memory stick will be accepted;

Speakers are invited to submit their presentation to the technical assistant one day before their Oral presentation (preferably to test it on the Laptop in the respective hall)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR POSTERS (POSTER Scientific/PhD Presentations)

To be published in the Conference Collection of Papers, every paper has to be prepared and submitted according to the requirements of a scientific paper /See Paper requirements/.

The Organizing Team will prepare and arrange poster boards for all poster materials.

The Organizing Team should have the responsibility to print only poster materials whose author has marked (and paid) this option in the registration form and has prepared the materials according to the poster requirements. All other materials must be printed by their authors and boarded by them at the respective day and poster session according to the conference programme.

Poster requirements: Papers that are intended to be presented on POSTER SESSION have to be prepared by the author/s as a poster with relevant charts, drawings, photos, etc in color (or black and white) in maximum format A1.

At the top of the poster, please provide the title of the paper (in bold, with capital letters), the names of the authors and their titles and institutions. Charts, drawings, photos and lettering should be large and clear enough so that the poster is readable from a distance of 1 (1.5) m.
Please, do not use paper background and other colored watermarks!

Poster materials must be submitted (only in PDF format, A1) by the web site,
section REGISTRATION > Upload Paper.

Have in mind that if you want your poster material to be printed by the Organizing team, you have to pay 15 EURO in addition per every poster. If not, you are responsible for printing and bringing the poster at the respective to the programme day and hour.

Note: Only posters prepared in accordance with the upper requirements and submitted on schedule, will be printed in A1 format, FULL COLOR (4+0)!

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SESSION CHAIRS

• Please, arrive at the SGEM Conference Hall at least 10 minutes before session start and meet briefly with the presenters and the technical assistants;


• Bring with you the SGEM Programme, but always before start, check the day session programme - some changes could occur;
  
• You needn’t take care about technical problems as there is a technical assistant;
  
• Each presenting author has 10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes are reserved for questions;
  
• Start the session promptly at the announced time;
  
• Introduce yourself and the session co-chair. Introduce the session with Section title. Introduce each presentation with a title, author/s and a Speaker;
  
• Shortly introduce each Speaker with the provided biography data (you shall receive speaker's biography information from the technical assistant in advance);
  
• Politely inform the presenters when their time limit is approaching;
  
• After the presentation invite questions and comments from the audience. If you wish you could express your opinion of the presentation/ ask a question;
  
• Conclude the session promptly at the announced time.
