COMPARING THE INTERCLOKING BOND AND RUNNING BOND KINDS OF MASONRY WALL UNDER IMPORTS OF HORIZANTAL LOADS

ABSTRACT

In this study, behaviors of wall samples produced from solid batch bricks were
investigated under horizontal loads using various types of bond. For this aim six
samples that contain three samples from each one, whose dimensions are 60*60 cm,
were prepared. İnterlocking bonding and running bond types were used while preparing
the samples. Produced masonry wall samples were failure using experimental technique
of standard shear strengths. The observed behavior of the experimental samples and the
cracks occurred are studied, horizontal load-displacement platted.
