ABSTRACT

The article discusses the new methodological approaches for the direct valuation of their
own economic services of biodiversity. Approaches are illustrated by economic services
valuation of intraspecific diversity of Pacific salmon. The resulting estimates can form
the basis of effective economic instruments for biodiversity conservation.
