ABSTRACT
Magnetotelluric (MT) and Manetometry data physically provide the signatures of the
apparent resistivities for various geological formations or simply various rocks and
materials. In this study the interpretation guide us to useful information about
Damavand volcano’s geological characterizations. Recognition of the fault paths, zones and the trend of them in the region also would lead us to a 3D image of the location of the magma chamber which in turn would be the direct result of the current project. The results show shallow and deep anomalies at 3 to 6 km depth levels which are comparable using both methods. It seems that the conductors as well as the magnetic
anomalies are mainly located under the main cone of Damavand. Some other observations crossing the secondary cone of the volcano (with 7300 years age), located
SW of the main, show approximately the same kind of features at similar depths.
